Our latest timelapse of The Mosaic Centre build is up! The worksite is looking great and this video is a true demonstration of all the hard work that's happened over the past few months. We're getting close to completion!

Site Update: Preparing for Winter!

With the winter weather becoming an increasing threat day-to-day, there has been a major focus on tidying up loose ends as far as exterior work goes. This includes focusing on getting as much of the exterior concrete completed as possible, with the remainder planned for completion in the spring.

Last month at the Mosaic Centre, our deliberate efforts at building a site culture and implementing lean thinking came to fruition: sub-trade foremen were united for a morning of planning scheduling with the end goal of determining when this masterpiece will be complete.

A Long Awaited Site Update!

The best word to describe activity onsite since the last update would be busy! Major progress has been made onsite on all fronts. Focus on LEAN, paired with the team culture here at Mosaic has allowed us to be successful in building an awesome building and having fun at the same time.

Site Update: A Concrete Plan

August has been another awesome month here for us at the Mosaic Project. Major progress has been made with the building envelope and atrium work.

Site Update: Raise the Roof

It seems like every update we can thank the weather gods for this awesome summer we’ve been having. The dry weather has been helping our site progress on many fronts. Curb crossing construction is well underway and we anticipate pouring in the next few days. Once these are completed and the parking lot paved, access to site will be much improved.

Site Update: Construction of the Superstructure

Work has been progressing well with the construction of the superstructure here at Mosaic. The great weather over the past few weeks has allowed us to work without fighting the mud and puddles. The main focus has been on the construction of the east section of the building, mainly the glulam structure installation and the framing of exterior walls.

Site Update: The Project Finds Its Energy

Construction is pushing ahead rapidly here onsite. Over the past few weeks, the main focus has been the boring of the geothermal wells, foundation work and the preparation for the assembly of the superstructure.

Site Update: Freezing Temps and Focus on Foundation

Work is moving along steadily here at the Mosaic Centre. The freezing temperatures over the past few weeks have allowed us to work without fighting the mud and soft soil conditions. This has improved efficiencies as well as the general mood onsite; nobody likes playing in the mud for 10 hours a day. Who would have thought the return of winter would be such a blessing!!

Feelings of Trepidation

I approached the Mosaic Centre construction site and felt my stomach flip. A carefully constructed labyrinth of security fence, job shacks and survey stakes consumed the corner lot. Holy shit … “we’re really doing this Harry”. At that moment, it felt like the entire project experience to that point in time was like a fire drill. Unprepared for the emotion that would rise up, I sat frozen in the driver’s seat and looked on.
